Leisure Options

  • Apply what you have learnt during your lessons and practise your language skills through varied family activities with your host or another adult member of the family.

    Activities are decided between you and your host and can include:
    Cooking/baking, shopping, bowling, mini-golf, a sports event, a ball game, cinema, theatre, sightseeing, conversation practice & debates, board games, nature walks, a local festival or event, a street or farmer’s market, an outdoor outing (beach, picnic, lake, etc.), historic downtown, a typical village, a local place of interest, afternoon tea or country pub (18+), arts & crafts, etc.

    ⚠ The nature of the activities depends on your interests and the host family’s location.

    All costs are included: the transport, entrance fees (if applicable), and activity expenses for the student and the accompanying person.

  • Visit places of interest and/or museums with your host or another adult member of the family who becomes your own private guide.

    Understanding the culture of your target language improves your experience and facilitates the learning process. It also enables you to practise your language skills in a different environment.

    Please refer to the relevant destination for the list of cultural visits available.

  • Enjoy a minimum of 3 sport sessions weekly (the number of sessions may vary depending on the sport and destination).

    Sessions are generally individual but sometimes take place with a group. They are usually held with a professional instructor and occasionally with a family member.

    ⚠ Sports are subject to availability and/or weather conditions. A change of area may therefore be required, and in exceptional circumstances, a replacement by another sport or general activities. Please indicate your level in all cases.

    All costs are included: the sport sessions, the accompanied transport, and rental equipment (where applicable).

  • Discover the uniqueness of your destination with an accompanied excursion to an exceptional site or a famous theme park. Excursions take place with your teacher or an adult member of the family.

Personalised Options

  • Designed to help you make rapid progress in the language you are studying and focused on the skills you need for your work.

    Improve your confidence and use of vocabulary through live practice for business meetings, negotiations, presentations, and general communication with clients. Learn the skills and techniques for phoning, writing reports, emails, or letters through role-playing. Improve your social skills for meetings and entertaining clients, traveling on business, or attending conferences.

    Tailored vocabulary is available for medicine, tourism, real estate, marketing, law, human resources, media, aviation, military, engineering, banking, accountancy, computing, and architecture.

  • Your teacher will design a course to prepare you for an exam (Cambridge EFL, TOEIC, TOEFL, IELTS, DELF, DELE, Baccalaureate, Abitur, Matura, and other exams on request).

    He or she will help you familiarise yourself with the test content, level, and format, work on the different types of questions you may be asked, review and improve your replies, go over your weaknesses, and give you past exam papers to help you practice.

  • You share bathroom facilities with your host and the family unless you take the private bathroom option, which gives you the use of your own exclusive bathroom for more privacy.

  • As young learners, they can benefit from a course specially designed for their needs. We offer close supervision in a friendly and caring household, and this option guarantees the presence of an adult at all times.

    ⚠ This option is available for students under 18 and is compulsory for students under 13.

  • We welcome students with special needs and special dietary requirements, providing we have been notified of these in advance so that we can select the appropriate host.

  • This option is for those who wish to be accompanied on their language immersion by a person who does not want to go on a course and only requires accommodation and meals.

  • This option is for language students who require a high standard of living.

    We have selected our most exclusive host teachers, who are all passionate about teaching and love meeting people from different backgrounds.

    You will benefit from a superior standard of accommodation and meals, as well as a very experienced host and tutor. A private bathroom is automatically included.

  • Experience the traditional festivities and seasonal activities at this special time of year.

    ⚠ A supplement will be charged for courses that include the 24th, 25th, 26th December and/or the 31st December-1st January.

  • These usually take place on Zoom and can be added to your Home Tuition Programme.

    This option includes a minimum of 10 sessions of 60min, 5 sessions to take place before the stay and 5 sessions to take place after the stay. Get to know your teacher, prepare for your course, revise and finalise everything you have learnt on your return.

  • One extra night with your host can be arranged to allow for your flight schedule.

    Meals are included, no lessons.

  • Transfers to/from airports, train stations or seaports can be arranged and are usually taken care of by the host, a private driver, or the Regional Manager.

    The required transfer location will be mentioned on the family profile. If you do not arrive/depart at the transfer location indicated, charges may be increased.

    ⚠ This option is compulsory for students under 16 unless they are accompanied by their parents.

    Extra charges are applicable for Unaccompanied Minors.

  • You can also choose to stay with a host during your school or university holiday, this is the ideal solution when you are unable to go back to your country and you are looking for a warm family environment to make you feel at home during your time off.

    It is also the opportunity to improve your language skills while having a good time. For minors the hosts will supervise any homework given and liaise with the school and the parents for any matters that need attending to.

  • Our academic language option for international and EU students helps you prepare for boarding school (GCSE, A Level, IB), foundation courses or university.

    It enables you to develop and practise the language skills needed to communicate with teachers and students, read academic texts, write summaries, reports, essays and give presentations. You can also extend your vocabulary for your specialised subject (maths, science, economics, business, literature....).

  • This option is for those who wish to take their pet on their language immersion programme (does not include food or pet sitting).
